Had to replace this the other day. I had a plumber take the old one out, which is made of fiberglass or something and it was fused into the boiler. I was given a brass immersion well with probe. Once that was taken out, it fitted pretty good. Just took a lot of work to remove old unit.
If the control starts cycling when you try to read the history, it's not your fault. It's a software bug in the Genisys control, not the contractor tool. The software is not updatable, so the control must be replaced again. Better off with the Carlin. The Carlin doesn't need an external tool and the adjustments are more inclusive and has a better history as well.
Whatever happened to your blue flame burner? Why has that been scrapped?

At 11:35 minutes, it is stated that the R7184 control, can Lockout, above the 4000 ohm point, yet all manuals I’ve read, state that the cadd cell resistance range should be within 300-1000 ohms, and not higher than 1600 ohms, or the burner will shut down…can Beckett Corp please help me to understand what this video is really trying to say….
R8184 controls have a lower lockout threshold than R7184 or Genisys.

I love using my contractors tool. Every chance I get I install Genisys Primary Control for my customers.
Turns out my burner has a D1 head. The Z distance for the D1 head is 7/8". The Z gauge sets the Z dimension at 1-1/8", which is correct for F heads (1-3/8" if there is a heatshield). So for the D1 head, slide the gun forward by 1/4" after marking the distance with the Z gauge.
Sounds like you have a Ducane burner.
Can getting in Ebay for $18.00 with shipping very nice tool easy to use. Beckett the best

its almost ironic, this is a heating system for sakes - oh sure some chemical engineer has guaranteed the plastic can withstand cycling heat expansion but why even bother - swap these for brass as soon as you can.
